If you or your staff need the Certified Food Protection Manager training, please review the information below:
A recent update to the Colorado Food Code (effective March 2025) requires a Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) to be present during hours of operation when food is being prepared. Please note that this requirement does not apply to ALL facility types. Facilities that pose minimal risk of causing foodborne illness may be exempt. Questions concerning this requirement in relation to your facility may be directed to cdphe_laponduty@state.co.us or call 303-241-4565.
If your facility is required to have an onsite Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM), San Juan County can help!
We are excited to announce that we can offer a CFPM test preparation class and can proctor the CFPM exam. Call for available times with Becky Joyce, RN.
The CFPM exam is accredited through a third party company called State Food Safety. The fee for proctoring this exam ($60) has been waived by San Juan County! You only pay for the exam voucher and if you choose to receive additional training for the exam through optional online training!
