All San Juan County residents can get 10 FREE sessions with a local behavioral health provider. We will accept insurance if possible, including Medicaid. If the cost of your co-pay prevent you from seeking services, please speak with your therapist about FREE sessions through the SJCPH Behavioral Health Program.

Southwest Rides offers door-to-door transportation for San Juan County residents who have Medicaid. Call 970-946-0232 to schedule.

Mobile DMV

Need DMV services in San Juan County? The Mobile DMV comes to the Silverton Public Library several times a year and offers a variety of services:

  • First time: Colorado Driver License or ID card
  • Out-of-State Transfers
  • Renew: Driver License, Permit, Identification Card,
  • Issue New: Driver License, Permit, Identification Card
  • Motor Vehicle Records
  • Reinstatements
  • Colorado Roads and Community Safety Act services

Environmental Health

San Juan County Public Health works with the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to share information about the environmental impacts in our area. 

Some of projects have included:

  • Gold King Mine spill monitoring
  • Air quality monitoring
  • Radon monitoring and referral
  • Assistance and alerts during emergencies or natural disasters
